Bursary description:
- The Oppenheimer Memorial Trust was formed in remembrance of Anglo American founder J. Robert Oppenheimer, one of the most powerful businesspeople and philanthropists.
- The trust was established in memory of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer, who formed the Anglo American Corporation and owned De Beers.
- For the bursary, academic performance and financial necessity will be used to choose students.
- Current Matric students who plan to study Engineering, Geology, or Accounting at a accredited South African institution are eligible for the Ernest Oppenheimer bursary.
Must be interested in enrolling or studying the following degrees:
- Engineering
- Geology
- Accounting
Bursary requirements:
- Should be a South African citizen.
- Should prove that they need financial assistance.
- Should have an exceptional academic record.
- Student achieve an average of level 6 and above in Science and Mathematics – For engineering and Geology students.
- Should achieve an average of level 6 and above in Accounting – For accounting students.
- Should be registered or interested in enrolling at an accredited South African institution.

- Certified copy of your South African ID (Less than 3 months old).
- Documentation of why you need financial assistance, this can include parent’s pay slip and a motivational letter.
- Acceptance letter/document from the university stating you have been accepted for the enrollment of the studies you will be pursuing.
- Certified copy of your latest academic record for university students.
- Certified copy of your Academic record (Grade 12 latest academic record/Grade 11 final academic record).
