Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) Bursary South Africa 2022

Bursary description:

  • The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) is a branch of the Gauteng Department of Education, a sector of the South African government which is responsible for skill development within Province. The GCRA helps develop skills of students within the province, by way of facilitation and coordination of bursaries, internships, learner-ships and career guidance programmes.
  • The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) invites Gauteng students to apply for bursary funding for the 2022 academic year. The GCRA bursary supports undergraduate and postgraduate studies in  ANY field of study.
  • Registration fees, tuition fees, on-campus/private accommodation (up to R65000) or off-campus/private accommodation (up to R47000), books, laptop, and a living allowance for off-campus/private accommodation are all covered by the bursary.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 3 to 4 weeks of the application deadline; if you do  not hear back within 4 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.

Must be interested in enrolling or studying the following degrees:

  • Any degree

Bursary requirements:

  • Should be a South African citizen
  • Should be between the age of 18 to 35 years old
  • Should have a permeant residence in Gauteng.
  • Should have completed Matric/Grade 12 at a Gauteng public school.
  • Should be accepted to towards the degrees mentioned above at an accredited or recognized South African institution.
  • Top achievers in Matric/Grade 12 from public schools based in Gauteng will automatically qualify for the bursary.

The following documentation may be required for the bursary application:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID(Less than 3 months old).
  • Certified copy of proof of residence.
  • Documentation of why you need financial assistance, this can include parent’s pay slip and a motivational letter.
  • Acceptance letter/document from the university stating you have been accepted for the enrollment of the studies you will be pursuing.
  • Certified copy of your latest academic record for university students.
  • Certified copy of your Academic record (Grade 12 latest academic record/Grade 11 final academic record).
