Bursary description:
- Old Mutual began as the South Africa’s first mutual life insurance business in 1845.
- Today, the corporation serves consumers throughout Africa, America, Europe, and Asia with banking products/services.
- Old Mutual is encouraging students who are interested and have a passion at pursuing a career in IT to apply to their Tech talent bursary.
- The bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, textbooks and living expenses.
- Recipients of the bursary will be give an opportunity to work during university recess/breaks where they will get mentored and trained.
- After completing their degrees students will be required to join the company’s graduate programme which will run for 18 months in Cape Town.
Must be interested in enrolling or studying the following degrees:
- Information Technology
- Computer Science
Bursary requirements:
- Should be South African.
- Should be studying at an accredited/recognized South African university.
- Should be studying in the above mentioned degrees and should be in their 3rd year of study at the university.
- Should achieve an average of 65% and above in their academics.
- Should be passionate about IT/computer science.
- Should be willing to relocate for the graduate programme.

- Documentation of why you need financial assistance, this can include parent’s pay slip and a motivational letter.
- Acceptance letter/document from the university stating you have been accepted for the enrollment of the studies you will be pursuing.
- Certified copy of your latest academic record for university students.
- Certified copy of your Academic record (Grade 12 latest academic record/Grade 11 final academic record).
