Bursary description:

  • Sanlam Retail Affluent (SRA) is committed to empowering middle- and upper- income South  Africans to be financially secure, confident, and prosperous. 
  • Sanlam Retail Affluent provides financial solutions such as comprehensive financial planning, life and disability insurance, credit solutions, savings and investments, retirement and fiduciary services that  can be  accessed through various platforms, with a focus on excellence in technology, client and  intermediary experiences.
  • For the bursary, Sanlam is calling on all matriculants and actuarial students to apply to their bursary programme, particularly, students who have registered to study Actuarial Science in 2023, as well as  existing Actuarial Science students in their first, second, or third year).
  • Matriculants who want to study actuarial science in 2023 will be able to do so. You are exactly what the company is looking for if you are a Math wiz, appreciate a good challenge by tackling  challenging issues, and are prepared to stay focused and disciplined through years of studying and  training.
  • The bursary covers the following: tuition and accommodation fees, General allowance (Books and pocket money), Mentoring and academic support from Sanlam actuarial professionals, Vacation work and networking opportunities with Sanlam staff, Guaranteed employment after completion of studies, Continued support and payment towards actuarial board exams  and a Range of work rotation opportunities across a broad spectrum of disciplines

Must be interested in enrolling or studying the following degrees:

  • Actuarial Science.

Bursary requirements:

  • Should be a South African citizen.
  • Should have an exceptional academic record.
  • Should intend to study at an accredited/recognized university/institution.
  • For Matriculants, An average of 90% and above in Math and and an overall A aggregate is required.

The following documentation may be required for the bursary application for school leaving learners who intend to study Actuarial Science in 2023:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID (Less than 3 months old).
  • Certified copy of your Academic record (Grade 12 latest academic record/Grade 11 final academic record).
  • Final 2021 Grade 11 results
  • Grade 12 mid-year 2022 results
  • NBT results
  • CV expressing why you need financial assistance for your university studies. Additionally focusing on Academics, Extra-mural activities and Leadership skills.

The following documentation may be required for the bursary application for Undergraduate Students studying Actuarial Science:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID (Less than 3 months old).
  • Full academic Transcripts.
  • Proof of registration and/or Fee Statement.
  • Copy of matric certificate.
  • Copy of ID/Passport or valid study Visa.
  • CV expressing why you need financial assistance for your university studies. Additionally focusing on Academics, Extra-mural activities and Leadership skills.
