Inclusive Growth Intern – United Nations Development Programme

Job description:

  • United Nation Development programme is hiring inclusive growth interns.

Job roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the UNDP Inclusive Growth programme and projects
  • Collect and analyze socio-economic data relevant to the promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth in South Africa
  • Advocate and support the formulation of strategies and the monitoring of progress towards the achievement of the SDGs
  • Research potential partners and funding opportunities
  • Develop concept notes
  • Support stakeholder management
  • Support the planning and organization of events
  • Support the development of communication and knowledge management products
  • Attend conferences and meetings with stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes
  • Assist in drafting and preparing official documents
  • Any other tasks as may be required

Job requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least a first degree in economics, development studies, social sciences, or other relevant areas. An advanced degree is preferred.

Job skills and competencies:

  • Interest and familiarity with development issues including inclusive and sustainable growth, employment promotion, entrepreneurship development, micro, small, and medium enterprise development, skill development, and digital inclusion
  • Integrity by modeling the UN’s values and ethical standards
  • Promotion of the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP
  • Cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability to multicultural environments
