Job description:
- United Nation Development programme is hiring inclusive growth interns.
Job roles and responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the UNDP Inclusive Growth programme and projects
- Collect and analyze socio-economic data relevant to the promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth in South Africa
- Advocate and support the formulation of strategies and the monitoring of progress towards the achievement of the SDGs
- Research potential partners and funding opportunities
- Develop concept notes
- Support stakeholder management
- Support the planning and organization of events
- Support the development of communication and knowledge management products
- Attend conferences and meetings with stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes
- Assist in drafting and preparing official documents
- Any other tasks as may be required
Job requirements:
- Grade 12
- At least a first degree in economics, development studies, social sciences, or other relevant areas. An advanced degree is preferred.
Job skills and competencies:
- Interest and familiarity with development issues including inclusive and sustainable growth, employment promotion, entrepreneurship development, micro, small, and medium enterprise development, skill development, and digital inclusion
- Integrity by modeling the UN’s values and ethical standards
- Promotion of the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP
- Cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability to multicultural environments
